If you aren’t already, start filming yourself skateboard.
For one, it’s pretty cool seeing old videos of yourself. And for another, you can learn a lot by watching yourself skateboard. You can become a better skateboarder because of this.
Skateboarding isn’t just about landing tricks you know …it’s also about capturing those tricks in your own unique way with filming and photography. You can get inspired by studying the pros (ie. Lakai Fully Flared video). Watch how they film and do the same, because…
Having solid tricks AND good filming is what counts.
The video below is a good place for beginner skateboarders to start learning how to film and edit skate videos. These are the basics things you need to know about how to film skateboarding…
As far as cameras go, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money, but still want high definition video, buy a Flip Ultra HD camera. It’s what I’m using right now, and it does what it’s suppose to (for me). There’s also a Flip Ultra magnetic fisheye you can buy, which I did, of course. All together I only paid approx. $250 …which is pretty darn good considering my last camera cost me $800 and it wasn’t even HD!
Action step: Get yourself a video camera and start filming yourself skateboarding (or get someone to film you).
Then start putting together your video clips with a editing program and upload your videos to Youtube. Try to put up a new video every weekend or so. And then watch yourself get better at skateboarding before your eyes! =)
Anyway – hope you enjoyed that video. You can thank Froggyprod on youTube for making that video.
Keep skateboarding fun.
